Director's Welcome

Dear Families,

Welcome to Northwoods Child Development Center.   We are excited to serve our Eagle River and Vilas County, Wisconsin community.   There is no more important work then the education of children.  Every child deserves to reach their full potential socially and academically.

Our mission is to provide a happy, warm, nurturing, positive, loving, and safe environment that fosters the foundation for growth and development of the whole child.  To fulfill our mission, your child’s day is filled with learning and fun, while meeting all their developmental needs.

We are more than just a daycare.   Our child care facility is state of the art.   Each classroom is designed specifically to meet the care and educational needs of your child.  We created an outdoor play and learning area that is the finest in Northern Wisconsin.  Our days are filled with creative activities and special events. Children are served tasty and nutritious meals.   To ensure we maintain high professional standards, our wonderful staff continue their education with in house training, workshops, and educational opportunities outside the Center.   In every respect, we want your child to thrive.

Communication with you the parent, is a very important part of Northwoods Child Development Center.   My door is open to feedback and suggestions. As we continue to grow together, you will find many opportunities to get involved.   Come visit, join in a daily activity, or take your lunch break with us.

Since opening, we have expanded our program at the main center from 50 children to 57 per day and started a school age childcare program at Eagle River Elementary School for 27 children per day.  We are in room 216.  Together, both centers serve over 130 children.

Our  staff look forward to serving your family and the Eagle River Community for many years to come.

Sincerely,

Wendy Kanitz, Director
